« Petit bourgeois complexé » : Aldiouma Sow pilonne Guy Marius Sagna
The political climate is becoming increasingly tense within the presidential movement. In a particularly virulent attack published by Aldiouma Sow, advisor to the President of the Republic and member of Pastef, MP Guy Marius Sagna, described for the occasion as a "neo-patriot," is pilloried.
For Aldiouma Sow, Guy Marius Sagna now embodies "the perfect prototype of the opportunist who claims to defend Pastef while only seeking positions of power within institutions." The presidential advisor bases his argument on a specific timeline related to legislative nominations to support this accusation of opportunism.
According to the text, the parliamentarian, "already elected in July 2022," allegedly demonstrated a prolonged financial disengagement from his own party's coffers. The author of the opinion piece reveals that he made the party wait "until November 2024, when the requirement for regular membership dues was raised as a prerequisite for his nomination, before rushing to regularize his financial situation with the party treasurer." This belated action by Guy Marius Sagna was allegedly solely intended "to allow him to appear again on the list of parliamentary candidates."
Beyond this management of membership fees, it is the inconsistency between the activist leader's speeches and parliamentary actions that is being criticized. Aldiouma Sow points out that this official is "always quick to remind us of democratic values." Therefore, activists legitimately expected him, "once installed in the National Assembly and the ECOWAS Parliament, to propose reforms aimed at eliminating the accumulation of offices and salaries among elected officials." However, the Pastef member observes bitterly, "nothing of the sort happened."
The attack goes beyond mere party discipline to target the moral and doctrinal stance of the intended victim. The presidential advisor asserts that Guy Marius Sagna "is in no position to lecture us on political ethics, democracy, and sovereignty."
The analysis portrays a political trajectory deemed misleading, describing the individual as someone who "appeared on the Senegalese political scene under the false guise of a defender of the oppressed of the 'system'."
In a short time, this initial stance crumbled, revealing, according to Aldiouma Sow, his true nature: "that of a conservative, insecure petit bourgeois." A string of epithets followed, denouncing an egocentric and doctrinal drift, portraying the MP as "a devotee of the cult of personality, coupled with a troubadour of messianism." Even more serious, the tweet alludes to latent identity-based tendencies, denouncing a stance "based on ethno-regionalism that he doesn't yet have the courage to publicly acknowledge." In conclusion to this indictment, the Pastef official reaffirms his faith in the party's original principles, insisting that "the project will succeed with true patriots."
