When questioned about the AEE Power case, the Minister of Energy, Birame Soulèye Diop, refused to enter into the controversy during the examination of his ministry's 2026 budget.
"I would prefer not to answer, because the case is pending in court. I trust the justice system," he told the members of parliament.
Addressing Thierno Alassane Sall indirectly, who claims to have already filed a complaint in this matter, the minister urged caution and respect for procedures.
"If you are in the same situation as me, let time take its course. There is no longer any need to talk about it on social media and in public squares all day long," he said.
Birame Soulèye Diop assures that justice will decide and that "everything will be clear" once the investigation is completed.
