Affaire Mame Mbaye Niang : L’Apr "ouvre le feu" sur Sonko et adresse un message à la Cour suprême
The Alliance for the Republic (APR) launched a scathing attack on the presidential camp this Saturday. In a statement seen by Seneweb, its national executive secretariat (SEN) primarily targeted Ousmane Sonko.
"Obsessed and fixated on his participation in the 2029 presidential election, Ousmane Sonko is embarking on a dangerous undertaking to destroy the fundamental structures of our rule of law and our Republic," the APR senator declared in his text.
Macky Sall's political party believes that by using the public sphere for legal proceedings, the Pastef leader is seeking to mobilize a part of the judicial system to "get out, illegally", of a conviction in the case opposing him to Mame Mbaye Niang.
The Alliance for the Republic is therefore urging the Supreme Court judges not to "give in to the whims" of the Prime Minister. In their view, the Pastef leader simply wants to sound the death knell for justice.
