Alioune Tine plaide pour la libération provisoire de Farba Ngom
The conclusions of the medical expert report concerning Mouhamadou Ngom, known as Farba, have rekindled the debate over his continued detention. According to the experts, "his state of health is incompatible with his continued detention in a prison environment, even in a hospital," adding that he "could be the victim of sudden death."
Following these revelations, Alioune Tine visited the detainee. The human rights defender reported the growing concern of his relatives, as well as the arguments of his lawyer, Mr. Baboucar Cissé.
For Mr. Tine, the responsibility now lies with the judge, who had these medical reports to make a decision.
"The primary responsibility is to protect life in accordance with our Constitution, which declares that human life is sacred and that the State has an obligation to protect it," he recalled.
He finds it incomprehensible that Mouhamadou Ngom does not benefit from this right recognized by the Constitution.
"Neither Ousmane Sonko nor Bassirou Diomaye can be held responsible for this situation. It is up to the judge, and the judge alone, to take responsibility by applying the law and the Senegalese Constitution by granting Farba provisional release," he insisted.
Alioune Tine finally calls for this decision to be taken "as soon as possible", judging that it is "the path of wisdom and prudence".

L'arrivée de PASTEF au pouvoir est une chance pour le Sénégal, mais si jamais le Président Diomaye et le Premier Ministre Sonko échouent, alors il faudra complétement désespérer pour ce pays. Tous les citoyens doivent être égaux devant la loi. Qui ne se rappelle pas du traitement infligé à Bibo Bougi malade et couché sur une civière.
