Affaire ASER : Jean-Michel Sène charge la presse et défie Thierno Alassane Sall
The Director General of the Senegalese Rural Electrification Agency (ASER), Jean-Michel Sène, took to the airwaves during a press conference this Wednesday, focused on transparency in the management of the structure.
Speaking to journalists, he strongly denounced what he considers orchestrated attacks against the institution he leads. According to him, "some journalists are paid to attack ASER." He even claims that the sources of funding for these alleged smear campaigns are known, without, however, providing specific details.
In a particularly aggressive statement, Jean-Michel Sène also implicated Thierno Alassane Sall, alluding to links with Saïdou Kane. He asserted that "no one can untie them," before accusing one of them of having deposited 65 billion FCFA in a bank, of which only 16 billion was actually received, questioning the fate of the remaining 49 billion.
“We don’t have time to respond to everything. The Senegalese people know he’s talking nonsense,” he declared, referring to Thierno Alassane Sall, whom he publicly challenged to provide proof of any embezzlement on his part. “Let him name a single franc embezzled by me, and we’ll see,” he insisted.
Addressing his relationship with the media, the Director General of ASER stated that his institution has already faced numerous criticisms in recent years. "We've endured everything from the press since 2021. Today, we are no longer shaken by these attacks," he declared, adding that he was ready to face any new controversy.
