De retour de mission, Me Madické Niang dit ses vérités sur les tensions qui menacent le Sénégal !
Madické Niang, a lawyer, spoke about the current political situation in the country. A guest on the program "Point de vue" this Sunday on RTS, the former Senegalese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diplomacy compared the tensions observed in Sao Tome and Principe, where he was leading a pre-electoral assessment mission, with the current political context in Senegal.
Commending the ability of São Toméan political actors to prioritize dialogue and peaceful solutions, he called for dialogue, responsibility, and the preservation of the country's institutional stability. "Senegal can only develop in peace and with the consolidation of democracy," he declared. Madické Niang also urged both the government and the opposition to prioritize the nation's best interests despite their political differences.
The former minister recalled that Senegal's international reputation was built on its democratic stability and the strength of its institutions. He argued that this image must be preserved in order to continue playing a respected role on the African and international stage.
Addressing the economic difficulties, he indicated that political action must primarily aim to improve the living conditions of Senegalese people. For Mr. Niang, political differences should serve to enrich democratic debate rather than weaken institutions. "We govern only to improve the lives of Senegalese people," he declared, calling on political actors to come together around the essential issues to meet the social and economic expectations of the population.
