After a Ziarra in Diamal, where he was received by the khalifa, the president of the National Assembly, El Malick Ndiaye, inaugurated the departmental headquarters of Pastef in Birkilane, an event with strong political significance in the lead-up to the local elections.
Named after Tamsir Cissé, a local son considered one of the martyrs of past political tensions, this headquarters symbolizes, according to party officials, Pastef's desire to strengthen its territorial presence. "These headquarters are the driving force of Pastef, the most structured and organized party in the country," El Malick Ndiaye declared to party members.
For the Speaker of the National Assembly, these spaces must extend beyond the purely political sphere. They will also serve to train young people and women, raise awareness about citizenship, governance and entrepreneurship, within a framework of sustainable grassroots party building.
But the most striking message remains that related to electoral strategy. El Malick Ndiaye clearly called on activists to mobilize in anticipation of the local elections, which he considers a decisive step after the presidential victory and the parliamentary majority obtained by Pastef. The stated objective is clear: to win a majority of mayoral and departmental council seats in order to consolidate the party's power throughout the country.
According to him, this momentum should allow Pastef to establish itself permanently on the national political scene. He thus spoke of a long-term ambition, believing that, thanks to good governance of resources and accountability to the people, the party could remain in power "for fifty years".
In his speech, El Malick Ndiaye also called for unity and discipline within the party, inviting activists to "put aside internal disputes", strengthen grassroots cells and prepare for the next phase of organization, including the announced launch of membership card sales.
For Pastef officials, the inauguration of the Birkilane headquarters marks the beginning of a local political offensive, in a strategy aimed at making the party a dominant and lasting force in the Senegalese political landscape.

Wassalam
