The Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, will preside over the Council of Ministers on Friday, June 5, 2026. The information was announced today during the publication of the new government composed of 30 members.

The last weekly meeting was held on May 20th. During this meeting at the Palace, the President of the Republic affirmed his intention to reorganize the monitoring of government action.

As part of the implementation of the National Transformation Agenda, Bassirou Diomaye Faye had announced that the Council of Ministers would now only be held every other week, with the introduction of government performance review sessions every two weeks.

A mechanism for the systematic evaluation of public action, from the ministerial level down to local authorities, is thus put in place.
