Captain Seydina Oumar Touré, Director General of the Local Security Assistance Agency (ASP), has strongly criticized journalist and media boss Madiambal Diagne, whom he describes as a "fugitive" who has evaded justice in his own country.
In a public statement, Captain Touré recalled that figures like Madiambal Diagne had "condemned" them between 2021 and 2024. He denounced an irony of fate: "it is this very man who chose to evade justice in his own country," he declared.
For Captain Touré, this situation reveals a clear fault line between those who serve the nation with integrity and those who pursue only personal interests. He is using the legal case against Madiambal Diagne to question his moral and patriotic legitimacy, implicitly pitting him against those who have chosen to remain and face justice.
As a reminder, Madiambal Diagne, who was banned from leaving Senegal, left the country for France. He is being prosecuted for alleged fraud involving public funds and money laundering in connection with a 21 billion CFA franc contract.
An international arrest warrant has been issued for him. Arrested in France, he has been placed under judicial supervision pending a decision by the French authorities on his possible extradition to Dakar.
