Cheikh Yérim Seck : « La rupture n’arrange ni Sonko ni Diomaye »
According to political analyst Cheikh Yérim Seck, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko have a vested interest in working together. "It's in their best interest," he stated on 7TV. "A split benefits neither Sonko nor Diomaye," the journalist insisted.
Referring to the Diomaye-President coalition, Mr. Seck believes, however, that "it will be very difficult for President Bassirou Diomaye Faye to govern without a political machine. He no longer has any space within Pastef."
"The coalition is not entrusted to Aminata Touré. She is designated as supervisor while the apparatus takes shape. Because if the head of state really wants to open up to political forces like the PDS or the APR, it is not Aminata Touré who will be able to succeed in this mission," Cheikh Yerim Seck added.
