Conseil municipal de Tivaouane : Le budget 2026 s'élève à 3,797 milliards F CFA

The budget adopted this weekend by the Tivaouane municipal council for the 2026 fiscal year amounts to 3,797,500,000 CFA francs in both revenue and expenditure. This is in accordance with the principles of public financial law applicable to local authorities. The budget is characterized by the consolidation of local governance, the continuation of major infrastructure investments, and the integration of sustainable development principles.

Compared to the 2025 fiscal year, the 2026 fiscal year shows an increase of 439,500,000 CFA francs. This development allows for a capitalized operating surplus of over 786,380,000 CFA francs, transferred to the investment section to support the municipality's infrastructure efforts.

Operating revenues are based primarily on local taxation, including in particular property tax on built and unbuilt land, land contribution, TEOM as well as the tax on boundary fees, increased to 200,000 CFA francs, with a level of collection considered satisfactory.

As for operating expenses, they mainly consist of personnel costs, subsidies and contributions, which represent more than half of the budget.

Planned investment credits will reach 1,380,000,000 CFA francs in 2026, following 1,540,000,000 CFA francs in 2025, bringing the total investment volume over the two fiscal years to 2,920,000,000 CFA francs. Priority projects include the renovation of the Aldjanatou Hotel, the construction and rehabilitation of school and healthcare infrastructure, the maintenance of sanitation networks, solar electrification and access to water in Koranic schools and mosques, as well as the construction of the municipal market.

New interventions are also planned in the areas of environment and living conditions, including the development of public spaces, paving of roads and improvement of urban lighting.
