Critiques contre Pastef: La réplique sèche du député Bacary Diedhiou à Bougar Diouf
MP Bacary Diedhiou reacted to Bougar Diouf's recent statements on Sen TV, stating that "Pastef is not part of the coalition that brought Bassirou Diomaye Faye to power."
In a text entitled "The Denied Trunk, the Sterile Graft: The Bougar Diouf Paradox," the Pastef representative described these remarks as a "provocation" and a "denial of the political foundations" of Pastef. According to him, "Pastef is not merely an administrative acronym, but constitutes a matrix of ideas and a collective force within Senegalese society."
Mr. Diedhiou also deplores what he considers to be "a deliberate forgetting of the alliances and the historical role of Pastef" and calls for "the recognition of the limits and political restraint of those who seek to challenge the influence of the party".

The denied trunk, the sterile graft: the Bougar Diouf paradox
I have by no means lost my capacity for discursive analysis. What transpired the other night, between 2:30 and 6:17 a.m., was less an exchange of ideas than a secret and meticulous orchestration of a coded message, of which Abdourahmane Diouf was merely the designated bearer. Since then, the machine has been set in motion: the same tired and hollow refrain, the same talking points, relayed on YouTube, then repeated yesterday on SEN TV by Bougar Diouf, one of the current emissaries, with almost mechanical regularity, a metallic voice, and barely veiled arrogance toward Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.
In a stance bordering on provocation, Bougar maintains that Pastef is not part of the coalition that brought Bassirou Diomaye Faye to power—a fallacious assertion, fueled by selective forgetfulness, if not willful political amnesia. He feigns ignorance of the fact that Pastef is not merely an administrative acronym, a structure formalized on stamped paper and easily dissolved by decree. Pastef is much more than a party: it is a matrix of ideas, a collective spirit, a flame etched in the conscience of the Senegalese people. Its name can be struck from the electoral registers, as was the case, but no one can erase its spirit from the hearts of the people.
It is this invisible yet vibrant lifeblood that fueled the victory of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, endorsed by the lucid and historic choice of Ousmane Sonko, and supported by men and women imbued with a fervent civic faith. Bougar Diouf, in his overzealousness, seems to ignore a simple biological truth: for a graft to take root, a parent body is necessary. Where, then, would one place the graft without Pastef? On what trunk can a branch be grafted if the root itself is denied? Without this mother body that is Pastef, nothing takes root, nothing lives, nothing flourishes.
The Pastef party's problem—if it has one—perhaps lies in its excessive political leniency: its tolerance of high-level alliances, often fragile, sometimes even detrimental. After all, how can one imagine that a man who has publicly disowned the party can sit in the same room with the president and his prime minister, as if nothing were amiss? This juxtaposition borders on the absurd, even on symbolic sacrilege: for one cannot share the light of the flame when one has denied its embers. What I conclude is that we are dealing here with a carefully orchestrated political after-sales service.
When competence or intellectual rigor fails to convince, it is pointless to look for a scapegoat. Dignity dictates recognizing one's limitations, withdrawing, and humbly returning to where one came from to reflect on the shortcomings of one's own argument.
Inspector, Honorable Bacary Diedhiou
