The day after its first ordinary congress, which saw Ousmane Sonko elected party leader for the next six years, Pastef held a major investiture rally this Sunday at the Dakar Arena. At the event, the party's secretary general, Ayib Daffé, reviewed the key takeaways from a congress he described as a "resounding success."

Addressing thousands of activists and supporters, Ayib Daffé expressed his satisfaction with the exceptional turnout. "The mobilization objective has been 1000% achieved," he declared, praising both the massive participation of activists and the quality of the work carried out during the congress. According to him, this first congress, anticipated since the party's creation twelve years ago, brought together numerous delegates, including representatives from Pastef's 553 local branches across the country. He also highlighted the active participation of the 45 diaspora branches, who came to take part in this event, considered historic for the political party. The Secretary General noted that several key documents were adopted at the congress. Among them was the policy document that will serve as the party's doctrinal framework for the next six years. Motions, general and special resolutions, a code of ethics for activists, and the general activity report were also approved by the delegates.

The event was also marked by the official launch of the new membership cards, a tool intended to support the party's organizational ambitions.

Ayib Daffé also thanked the foreign partners, invited delegations, allies, supporters, and all party structures for their contribution to the success of the congress. Looking ahead, he reiterated the objectives set by the new president of Pastef. The party now aims to establish 100,000 functional cells throughout Senegal and to surpass one million members through the membership card sales campaign. These ambitions reflect Pastef's desire to consolidate its presence throughout the country and within the diaspora, following a congress that marks a new chapter in the party's history.
