Déclaration choc de Me Moussa Diop : « Ousmane Sonko a beaucoup d’amis homosexuels et subit... »
This statement is likely to provoke a strong reaction from PASTEF activists and supporters. Invited this Monday, March 2nd, to the program Quartier Général on Futurs Médias Television (TFM), the former director general of Dakar Dem Dikk, Moussa Diop, launched serious accusations against Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.
When questioned about the homosexuality scandal that has been shaking Senegal for several weeks, Me Moussa Diop stated unequivocally that the head of government had "many homosexual friends" and that he was trying, in his opinion, to "suppress the affair".
“Ousmane Sonko has many homosexual friends. His attack on Mame Matar Guèye was no accident. He is under pressure. I stand by what I said. I am not afraid of what I am saying because I am not defaming anyone,” he declared, openly challenging any Pastef official to contradict him. According to Moussa Diop, the Prime Minister’s recent stance in the National Assembly can be explained by pressure exerted by people with whom he maintains friendly relations.
As a reminder, during his last appearance before the National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko denounced the release of medical records of individuals arrested in a case involving homosexuality and alleged HIV transmission. He also criticized Mame Matar Guèye of the NGO Jamra, who was planning to publish a list of suspected individuals. The Prime Minister then stated that he himself had instructed the Minister of the Interior to withdraw the close protection granted to the Jamra representative.
These explosive statements by Mr. Moussa Diop have reignited an already very sensitive controversy and could revive tensions on the national political scene.
