Démission : Une proche de Me Moussa Diop quitte AG Jotna et rejoint le Pastef
Another defection within the ranks of AG Jotna. Yayoubamba Diouf Diop, former communications officer for the party led by Maitre Moussa Diop, announced her resignation before officially joining Pastef.
In a public statement, the former political leader explains his departure by "deep differences in vision and political strategy" that emerged during the 2024 legislative elections between the leader of AG Jotna and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.
According to her, Ousmane Sonko's decision to run independently in the legislative elections with his own political party was not supported by his former political leader. This situation had already led her to distance herself from AG Jotna during this election period.
"This decision was primarily motivated by a concern for consistency, loyalty to my principles and respect for my political conscience," she said.
In her message to the Senegalese people, Yayoubamba Diouf states that she has refined her political thinking in light of recent developments on the national scene. She now believes that her commitment must be part of a dynamic more aligned with her vision for Senegal and the aspirations of its youth.
She thus announces that she is joining Pastef, a party with which she shares ideals including "sovereignty, social justice, transparency, good governance and the profound transformation" of the country.
AG Jotna's former communications officer, however, made a point of thanking her former colleagues and party officials for "the shared human and political experiences."
“My commitment to Senegal remains intact. I will continue to serve with honesty, courage and determination, solely in the interest of the Senegalese people,” she concluded.
