President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye emphasized today the priority of access to drinking water in the country's economic and social development policy. He noted the difficulties in supplying drinking water observed in several localities across the country, particularly in Touba, Kaffrine, Louga, and Keur Massar.

Thus, in the Council of Ministers, held at the Palace of the Republic, the Head of State "asked the Minister of Water and Sanitation to take all necessary urgent measures, in conjunction with SONES, OFOR, SEN'EAU and other delegates of the public drinking water service in rural areas, in order to significantly improve access to water for the population."
