For Salimata Dieng, deputy to the national secretary general of the JPS, the strength of the current presidential duo lies in their solid complementarity and mutual loyalty forged in conviction. The former presidential representative expressed her point in a special interview with Seneweb. "President Diomaye is my mentor," she says. "He coached my first television shows and always encouraged me to pursue my goals," she says. According to her, the president is a "fair, sincere, and calm" man, whose loyalty to Ousmane Sonko remains, according to her, a fundamental trait of his personality. "It is this loyalty that made him the President of the Republic," she adds.
Regarding Ousmane Sonko, the young leader praises "his speech, his commitment, and above all his love for the country." She sees him as a leader who has raised awareness and inspired an entire generation.
Asked about the relationship between the two men, she emphasizes that "politics is also about differences of opinion, but that doesn't affect their relationship in any way." For her, their difference in temperament does not constitute opposition: "Sonko remains Sonko, and Diomaye remains Diomaye. In the party, we always find each other."
