Diomaye, Sonko, résolutions : Salimata Dieng refait parler d'elle avec un nouveau message
Salimata Dieng, deputy to the National Secretary General of the Patriotic Youth of Senegal (JPS), broke her silence this Thursday with a statement titled "By honor and by truth," denouncing her dismissal from her position as a mission officer at the Presidency. On September 10, she published a text on Facebook criticizing PASTEF's internal dysfunctions, notably "the low involvement of young people and sincere activists," in the hope of alerting people to flaws she deemed harmful. "God is witness: if this were not the only way to make myself heard sincerely, I would never have decided to publish this text," she wrote, emphasizing its constructive and non-polemical intention.
Summoned on September 11, then again on the 12th with other mission officers, she received a dismissal notification dated September 12 three weeks later. "I will not hide my disappointment at having been dismissed for having expressed, in a party that advocates internal democracy and freedom of speech, a sincere opinion," she laments, stressing that this sanction exposes her to possible dismissal from her position at the JPS, which she refuses to abandon. Salimata Dieng rejects accusations of seeking appointments or weakening the party: "My intention has never been to harm or impose any appointment whatsoever." Faithful to the teachings of Ousmane Sonko on "sacrifice and self-denial," she quotes François Hollande ("men and women of conviction must be the best allies of leaders") and Max Weber ("the only true loyalty is that towards the people") to defend her approach.
She thanks President Bassirou Diomaye Faye for the initial trust and affirms: "A dismissal does not extinguish convictions, does not interrupt commitment, and does not hinder a career. (Fa inna ma'a al-'usri yusrā)" Supported by messages of sympathy, Dieng reaffirms her commitment within PASTEF for a "just, sovereign and prosperous Senegal", promising to contribute to the national project until 2029. "We fought to bring a man to power on the basis of a collective vision, not personal ambitions", she concludes, calling for strengthening the party and respecting loyal activists
