On tour from January 9 to 10, 2026 in the department of Dagana, in the delta of the Senegal River, the deputy and president of the ARC party, Anta Babacar Ngom Diack, made a strong impression with an engaged speech and close meetings with the people of Walo.
This visit, rich in exchanges, concluded with a solemn appeal to the President of the Republic for the dissolution of the National Assembly.
The first stop on this tour took the parliamentarian to the historic village of Nder, where an impressive crowd gathered to welcome her. There, Anta Babacar Ngom paid a moving tribute to the heroines of Nder, recalling the sacrifice of the women who, on March 7, 1820, immolated themselves to escape slavery and preserve their dignity. For her, this date deserves to be celebrated as much as, or even more than, March 8, International Women's Day.
Noting the state of disrepair of a historic building in the village, the MP proposed its transformation into a museum of international stature, a project which, according to her, could contribute to the prestige of Nder and to local economic development.
After Nder, she headed to Gnith where Anta Babacar Ngom met with students, community leaders, and activists who welcomed her visit. That same day, she traveled to Thiago, where residents, particularly farmers, described their ordeal due to the ongoing water shortages that have persisted for several years. The inhabitants also raised the numerous land disputes they face.
Sensitive to their grievances, the elected official promised to bring their voice to the National Assembly in order to put an end to what she calls an injustice.
The tour continued in Mbane, a town also affected by these difficulties. Welcomed in a festive atmosphere, Anta Babacar Ngom denounced the neglect of this part of northern Cameroon, stating that these localities have been left "behind the scenes" by the authorities. She then traveled to Dagana, Richard Toll, and Gaya to pay her respects and meet with members of her party.
A large political rally concluded this tour. Addressing her supporters, the president of the ARC officially called on the President of the Republic to dissolve the National Assembly. According to her, the current institution does not represent a genuine break with the past and marginalizes the opposition, whose speaking time is limited and whose legislative proposals receive little consideration.
Anta Babacar Ngom also demanded clarification on the management of the billions allocated to ASER (Senegalese Rural Electrification Agency), stressing that he had met, throughout his tour, many Senegalese still plunged into darkness.
Finally, the MP questioned the Prime Minister's recent statements in the peanut basin, stating that she had "never seen in the history of Senegal a head of government attack his own ministers".
Through this tour, Anta Babacar Ngom intends to strengthen her ties with the people and assert her position as a determined opponent in the face of the country's political and social challenges.

Wait and see.
