The Front for the Defense of Democracy and the Republic (FDR) will hold a press conference this Monday, October 27, 2025. The objective is to detail the program of its peaceful march planned four days later, on Friday, October 31.

The route of this demonstration will extend along Ababacar Sy Avenue, from the Sicap Water Jet to the Liberté 5 terminus.

Through this march, the FDR says it wants to confront the "anti-national policy" of the PASTEF power by demanding a series of social measures,

economic and judicial:

Social and Economic Demands

The withdrawal of anti-social measures, including the exorbitant cost of energy, the taxation of mobile money and the sharp increase in the price of basic necessities.

Maintaining subsidies on energy and staple foods.

Payment of family allowances and support for vulnerable groups.

Immediate payment of the 8 billion promised to the victims of the 2024 floods in the Valley, as well as assistance to the victims of this year's floods.

Justice and Rights

The reinstatement of the rights of the 30,000 dismissed persons and the respect of agreements with the trade union organizations.

Respect for court decisions, in particular those of the Constitutional Council and final convictions.

An end to judicial harassment of opponents, journalists and other critical voices, an end to the policy of "double standards" and respect for the equality of all before the law.

The immediate and unconditional release of political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, as well as political hostages.

The cancellation of political prosecutions, in particular those concerning the events of 2021 to 2024, recalling that law 2024-09 on amnesty is still in force.

The FDR also informed the population that it will hold open information meetings in the Dakar region, in relation to its decentralized structures, from October 23 to 28 (Rufisque, Guédiawaye, Keur Massar, Dakar, Pikine).
