Inondations à Touba : l'État est averti, il faut investir 93 milliards F CFA une fois ou perdre...
If the state does not tackle the issue of flooding head-on, it risks losing far more each year than the investments needed for a lasting solution. Touba and Lake Retba, among the most vulnerable areas, are striking examples.
In the holy city, warns Madické Cissé, head of the Directorate for Flood Prevention and Management (DPGI), "annual flood damage is estimated at nearly 30 billion CFA francs." This does not include, he emphasizes, the social and psychological consequences hanging over the heads of the 70,000 people at risk.
To permanently curb this phenomenon, Madické Cissé recommends that the State agree to invest 93 billion CFA francs. He was speaking at the workshop on evaluating rainy season management, organized by the Ministry of Water and Sanitation.
Taking the case of the Lac Rose area, which includes Kounoune, Sangalkam and Bambilor, the head of the DPGI reveals that the losses are estimated at 4 billion CFA francs per year, whereas it is enough to inject 35 billion to break the cycle.

les enturbannés préfèrent se payer des femmes, des villas luxueuses et de puissantes voitures, pour les inondations ils comptent sur leurs moutons de talibés et sur l'Etat.
