Fonds politiques : Babacar Bâ dénonce des « caisses noires » échappant à tout contrôle
The coordinator of the Forum of the Justiciable, Babacar Bâ, has called on the President of the Republic for a thorough reform of political funds, which he considers a breach of the principles of transparency and good governance.
In a public statement, Babacar Bâ argues that political funds, in their current form, constitute "an institutional anomaly incompatible with the requirements of democratic transparency." According to him, these public resources, often referred to as "slush funds," escape any effective control mechanism and foster opaque management of public money.
The head of the Forum of the Justiciable lamented that a significant portion of the state budget is allocated to these funds without citizens having precise information on how they are used. "While billions of CFA francs disappear into these budget lines, citizens continue to suffer from poverty and social injustice," he denounced.
For Babacar Bâ, it has become imperative to undertake a structural reform aimed at subjecting political funds to more rigorous management rules and appropriate control mechanisms. Such an approach would, in his view, strengthen citizens' trust in public institutions and guarantee a more efficient use of national resources.
The coordinator of the Forum of the Justiciable thus advocates for governance based on accountability and transparency, so that every franc from public finances truly serves the general interest and contributes to the development of the country.
