«Dès la création du parti, il a...» : Ibrahima Ndiaye solde ses comptes avec Déthié Fall
Recently dismissed from his position as National Secretary for Finance and Logistics of the Republican Party for Progress (PRP), Dr. Ibrahima Ndiaye breaks his silence. In an interview with L'Observateur, the teacher and founding member of the party fully accepts the criticisms leveled at the country's management—criticisms that led to his removal—and paints a scathing portrait of his former leader, Déthié Fall.
"Principles are my fuel."
Dr. Ndiaye claims to have accepted his dismissal calmly, seeing it as the predictable reaction of a leader with an "oversized ego." According to him, Déthié Fall suffers from an inferiority complex in the face of free thinkers: "Friendships perish before principles," he insists. He denounces a "shepherd-like" management of the party, marked by a lack of internal democracy and an inability to accept dissenting opinions.
He describes a party leader who placed himself on a "pedestal," became unreachable, and acted in a way that was the antithesis of collegial management, particularly at a time when party members were suffering under the harsh realities of the opposition. "I abhor deceit and subservience as a means to climb the ranks. For me, a clear conscience is worth more than any other ornament in life," he confides.
Relationships marked by a clash of personalities
Looking back on their relationship, Dr. Ndiaye speaks of a "clash of personalities" from the very beginning of the party's creation.
Far from regretting his appearance on RFM's "Grand Jury" program, he reiterated his criticisms of the new regime's management of the country. The interviewee for the Groupe Futurs Médias newspaper believes that, 21 months after the change of power, certain repressive practices persist and that freedom of expression remains fragile.
"I fought for the rule of law, democracy, justice, access to healthcare and education. Yet, we are still waiting for concrete reforms."
He also regrets that the political debate is dominated, in his view, by mockery and smear campaigns rather than by serious economic proposals.
Looking to the future, Dr. Ndiaye is now dedicated to a major industrial project in Tambacounda, called "Gamme Blanche". This project, valued at 25 billion CFA francs, aims to locally process Senegalese cotton into medical consumables (bandages, gowns, etc.) and is expected to create 610 direct jobs on 118 hectares, with the ambition of reducing Senegal's dependence on imports while improving the trade balance.
