The formation of the new government led by Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Lo marks the departure of several key ministers from the previous cabinet.
In the area of public security, the Ministry of the Interior is changing hands with the departure of Bamba Cissé, who is being replaced by Makhtar Cissé in this new structure. Among other notable departures within the key ministries, General Birame Diop is leaving the Ministry of the Armed Forces, his exit coming as he is announced as Senegal's candidate for the position of President of the ECOWAS Commission. The Ministry of Justice is also changing with the departure of Yassine Fall, while in the strategic resources sector, Birame Souleye Diop is relinquishing the portfolio of Petroleum and Energy.
The production and rural sector, meanwhile, sees the departure of Mabouba Diagne, who no longer holds the position of Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Livestock.
At the sectoral and social development level, Fatou Diouf (Fisheries), Olivier Boucal (Public Service) and Moustapha Ndieck Sarré (Vocational Training) are no longer part of the new team.
Finally, this renewal affects youth and the cultural sector with the departures of Khady Diène Gaye (Youth and Sports) and Amadou Ba (Culture), while the executive's communication team is being reshuffled following the departures of Alioune Sall (Communication) and Marie Rose Faye, until now the minister spokesperson.
