The PASTEF–Les Patriotes party expressed its profound gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the grand rally on November 8, 2025, which it described as a “historic, powerful, and hopeful” moment. Activists, supporters, allies, and engaged citizens from across Senegal and the diaspora responded massively to the party's call, transforming the Téra Meeting into a demonstration of patriotic fervor and popular determination.

A tribute to the martyrs of the revolution

Before an enthusiastic crowd, President Ousmane Sonko opened his speech with a solemn tribute to the victims of the revolution, hailing their sacrifice as "the light that illuminates the path of the Senegalese people towards justice and sovereignty." This moment of reflection recalled the human and historical dimension of the struggle led by PASTEF and its supporters, now inscribed in the collective memory of the country.

A harsh diagnosis and a call for resilience

In a speech that was both lucid and mobilizing, President Sonko painted an unflinching picture of the country's economic situation. He denounced "the burden of a colossal debt, hidden by the former regime, which now exceeds 130% of GDP," a consequence, according to him, of "opaque and irresponsible management."

Faced with this situation, he launched an appeal for national solidarity and resilience, inviting Senegalese people to unite around an Economic and Social Recovery Plan (PRES) focused on endogenous development, transparency, and social justice. "The people who have embraced the project for a radical transformation of Senegal are capable of making the necessary sacrifices for a better future," declared Ousmane Sonko.

A warning against attempts at recovery

The PASTEF Political Bureau also warned against any attempt to politically exploit what it calls a popular victory. The party denounced "the attempts at confusion orchestrated by malicious actors" and reiterated that its struggle is not driven by vengeance, but by "the pursuit of justice."

PASTEF is therefore calling on citizens to remain vigilant so that the people's victory is neither "hijacked nor tarnished", demanding that those responsible for economic crimes, violence or assassinations be brought to justice.

A relationship of trust reaffirmed with President Diomaye Faye

President Ousmane Sonko also wanted to reaffirm the strength and sincerity of his relationship with President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, recalling that the latter "does not need last-minute maneuverers" and that he can always count on those who believed in the Project from its beginnings, "with loyalty and consistency".

A step towards national refounding

For PASTEF, this large gathering marks a decisive step in the march towards the refounding of Senegal and the implementation of the systemic transformation project.

The party commends the fighting spirit, dignity and determination of the Senegalese people to build a "just, sovereign and united" future.
