Cap sur 2029 : La méthode Sonko pour nettoyer PASTEF de ses insulteurs
Beyond political and institutional issues, Ousmane Sonko used the PASTEF rally at Dakar Arena to launch a genuine overhaul of activist behavior within his party. Addressing thousands of supporters, the leader of the Patriots called for an end to the invective, quarrels, and sterile confrontations that have often fueled political debate in recent years. "Taunts, nicknames, and insults—that must no longer be PASTEF," he declared firmly.
In a context marked by strong political polarization, Sonko called on his supporters to adopt a more responsible and respectful stance towards institutions, religious authorities, and the diverse sensitivities within the country. "We must be an exemplary party," he insisted, asking his supporters to treat religious dignitaries, traditional chiefs, and other figures of authority in Senegalese society with respect. The Prime Minister also warned against the pitfalls of provocation. According to him, some actors are deliberately trying to push activists into reprehensible behavior in order to discredit them or expose them to legal action. "They will recruit insult-mongers to provoke you. Refuse to play this game," he urged.
But behind this call for discipline lies, above all, a clear electoral ambition. Sonko has set particularly ambitious structural goals for his party: one million membership cards, ten thousand grassroots cells, and a strengthened presence throughout the country. "Travel the country, build the party's strength," he urged his supporters. Far from being distracted by the controversies, the PASTEF president now wants to focus his camp on preparing for the upcoming elections.
He specifically called for a massive registration on the electoral lists, considered as the first step in the political battle to come.
For Sonko, the recent turmoil within the party does not undermine its momentum. He acknowledges the departure of some leaders but refuses to see it as an existential crisis. "A handful of people have withdrawn, but PASTEF retains the confidence of the Senegalese people," he stated.
