Thierno Alassane Sall paid a strong tribute to the Senegalese defense and security forces, calling them "the backbone of our nation." But he primarily used this platform to denounce the code of silence surrounding Senegal's involvement in the situation in Mali and to question the government about its concrete actions.

"History will remember what we did for our Malian brothers in extremely grave times. We share borders, a motto, and yet, too little has been made public about our support," he stated.

Thierno Alassane Sall also raised concerns about soldiers' working conditions, such as the late payment of the overall food allowance. According to him, the allowance was paid after November 21st, which is problematic for troop motivation and well-being. He also noted the insufficient amount of the allowance: calculated on the basis of 36,000 FCFA per month, it amounts to only 1,200 FCFA, less than the daily allowance for a prisoner (1,300 FCFA). He considers this situation unacceptable for soldiers on operations.

Regarding logistical difficulties, the MP mentioned the lack of fuel and resources to ensure training and rotations at sea, highlighting serious operational constraints.

While he had previously expressed his opposition to certain military interventions abroad, Thierno Alassane Sall insisted on the need for transparency and concrete solidarity with neighboring countries in crisis. "Many of our neighbors have been attacked and tormented, and we have duties towards them. Ignoring this reality, or remaining silent, is to compromise our future security," he warned, quoting Winston Churchill to remind us of the importance of acting before it is too late.

The MP thus called on the government to clarify what Senegal has actually done to support Mali, breaking the code of silence surrounding the issue and highlighting the country's historical responsibility in the face of regional crises.

    quelle omerta il y a 8 heures

quell omerta ?
