Installation du Secrétariat exécutif départemental de l’APR à Saint-Louis : Abdou Mbow charge le gouvernement Sonko
The Alliance for the Republic (APR) has established its departmental executive secretariat in Saint-Louis. Presiding over the meeting, the party's spokesperson and member of parliament, Abdou Mbow, took the opportunity to launch a scathing attack against the government led by Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.
In an uncompromising speech, Abdou Mbow denounced what he called the current leaders' lack of vision and competence. "We have uneducated leaders at the head of this country, leaders who don't tell the truth and who lack vision," he asserted, believing that Senegal is heading straight for "the abyss" if the situation continues. For the APR official, the urgent task is clear: "to save Senegal" through a united and responsible opposition.
Returning to the topic of the budget, the MP strongly criticized the adoption of the finance law, which he deemed to lack a legal basis. According to him, the approved budget is not based on any national planning law, while the Emerging Senegal Plan (PSE) remains, according to the 2022 law, the sole framework for public policy. "In what country can you see a finance law that is not backed by a national planning law? It's scandalous," he declared, seeing it as proof of a lack of vision and "negligence" on the part of the authorities.
Abdou Mbow also criticized the 762 billion CFA francs announced as part of an economic and social recovery plan. In his view, this option would increase the tax burden on Senegalese citizens, even though, according to him, the country has sufficient resources. He also defended the outgoing administration's record, stating that President Macky Sall left "a prosperous country," and asserting that the debate surrounding alleged "hidden debts" is now being refuted even within the government itself.
In the same vein, the APR spokesperson demanded the publication of several documents, including the report from the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF), the report from the Mazars firm, as well as the statistical bulletins on the debt, which have been missing since June 2024. For him, this silence fuels doubt and reflects a "public denial" on the part of the rulers.
Abdou Mbow also strongly criticized certain budget lines, citing in particular an allocation of 1.8 billion CFA francs which he deemed unjustified. He called on the Senegalese people to be vigilant against what he described as a "dangerous regime."
