Juge Dème sur la mort de Abdoulaye Ba : «Le gouvernement a été pris en flagrant délit de…»
Ibrahima Hamidou Dème, more commonly known as Judge Dème, is outraged by what happened at Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD), where student Abdoulaye Bâ lost his life in tragic circumstances. He deemed the government's statements and the prosecutor's press release regarding the young student's death unacceptable.
"After the government was caught red-handed spreading fake news about the tragic violence at UCAD, now the justice system is being called in to endorse a version of events designed to whitewash the state. This is unacceptable," he posted on his digital platforms.
For the leader of the Together for Work, Ethics, Integrity and Citizenship (ETIC) movement, "what is unfolding before our eyes is extremely serious." He believes that today, "the discovery of the truth is all the more compromised as the public prosecutor's office's communication aligns with that of the already discredited government."
The former magistrate speaks of a further failure of justice and the rule of law, but above all a second death of the student Abdoulaye Ba.
