Kaffrine : Le médiateur de la République partage son rapport annuel avec les populations
The Ombudsman of the Republic, Demba Kandji, held a sharing meeting in Kaffrine this Monday with administrative authorities, local elected officials, civil society, development actors and the population, in order to present his annual report and gather citizens' concerns.
"My annual report, as I already presented it to the President of the Republic last April, is part of the law that established me and which imposes on me the obligation to reach out to the populations, on whose behalf I intervene with the administrations and organizations responsible for delivering public services," he declared. He added that this mission aims to "share this report with them, then to gather their needs, their claims and their grievances."
In Kaffrine, the discussions highlighted several challenges facing citizens. "People expressed several concerns, to which I will give them the necessary attention and importance. After analysis, I will forward these grievances to the appropriate authorities," assured Demba Kandji.
Among the recurring complaints, he noted "the issue of land, access to basic public services, cohabitation between breeders and farmers as well as cattle theft and certain administrative deadlocks."
The Ombudsman of the Republic thus reaffirmed his commitment to supporting populations, particularly in semi-rural areas such as Kaffrine, where the challenges of governance and access to essential services remain pressing.
