Kaolack : En rencontre avec les jeunes de son parti, Khalifa Sall se projette vers le congrès d’avril prochain
In a tense political climate, Khalifa Ababacar Sall met with the youth of Taxawu Sénégal in Kaolack. During this meeting, the political leader denounced the increasing legalism of political debate and officially launched the process of renewing his party's leadership in preparation for the congress scheduled for April 2026.
After ten months of introspection and evaluation following the turbulence of 2024, Taxawu Senegal is entering a phase of relaunch. An ad hoc committee has been established to oversee a national census, the process of which symbolically began in Kaolack. For Khalifa Sall, the objective is clear: to prepare the movement for a resurgence in anticipation of the next local elections following the 2027 deadline.
"We are in a democratic country, but this new trend of bringing actors to justice must be banned; it must be stopped," he insisted regarding the current political situation.
The leader of Taxawu Senegal also took advantage of his visit to the peanut-growing region to challenge the government on the shortcomings of peanut marketing. He described the current campaign as a "clear and acknowledged" failure, calling for more dialogue and transparency for farmers.
According to him, some measures taken by the authorities were not appropriate to the realities of rural life. "It is important that the State acknowledge its shortcomings and failures, which will allow it to be more attentive for the next campaign," argued Khalifa Sall. Displaying irony in his response to official pronouncements, he quipped: "They tell us we're in the fifth basement; you can't be in the fifth basement and be doing well."
