Le Rassemblement pour la Vérité / And Ci Degg appelle à la transparence et à la relance économique
The national situation of the country was examined by the Political Bureau (PB) of the Rally for Truth / And Ci Degg (RV-ACD).
The discussions focused primarily on the country's economic situation, including ongoing discussions between the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Senegalese government, as well as the persistent rise in the cost of electricity.
"The members of the PB encourage the authorities to continue these negotiations in a spirit of transparency and sovereignty, while inviting the IMF to demonstrate flexibility and better consideration of national priorities," the RV-ACD said in its press release.
Regarding the surge in electricity prices, the RV/ACD calls on the government to implement "urgent and structural measures to mitigate this high cost, which has a heavy impact on household purchasing power and the competitiveness of businesses. In the same spirit of transparency."
The Political Bureau also welcomed the accountability efforts undertaken by the current regime, which it considers a sign of transparency and good governance.
However, he insisted on the need to preserve the country's economic dynamics, by focusing on the revival of national production, the strengthening of the Senegalese private sector and the stimulation of local investment.
On the social front, the RV/ACD extended its best wishes for success to all pupils, students, and educational staff for the start of the school and university year. It called on the government to prioritize constructive dialogue with the G7, which brings together the main teachers' unions, in order to ensure a stable, peaceful, and successful school year.
Finally, the Political Bureau launched a call for the general mobilization of its activists, officials and supporters to support the actions and priorities defined in the party's agenda.
