Limogeage, réaction de Sonko, éventuelle démission de PASTEF : Les nouvelles révélations de Salimata Dieng
Salimata Dieng, a former mission officer at the Presidency of the Republic, was dismissed from her position following a Facebook post she described as "purely militant." While considering the decision "unfair," the leader of the JPS (Patriotic Youth of Senegal) said she took it philosophically. "My post was linked to my position within the party, but I hope that the same rigor will also serve to bring justice to the victims of political violence," she said.
Asked about a possible reaction from Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, Salimata Dieng said she had not spoken directly with him, but said she was convinced he could not hold it against her.
"We are from his background and share the same principles. We act out of conviction. He never put his personal interests before the collective good. It was this approach that cost me my job," she insisted.
Despite her dismissal, Salimata Dieng has affirmed her resolve to remain committed and maintain her independence of mind. Her response regarding her future within the party is unequivocal: "I am not resigning; I am maintaining my freedom of speech."
She concluded her interview by quoting former French President François Hollande: "The problem with power is that we don't tell it the truth, but what it wants to hear. And the truth is the only thing that can really help it in its efforts."
