Nairobi 2026 : Comment le Sénégal mobilise ses leaders mondiaux pour le sommet France-Afrique
On the sidelines of the "Africa Forward" summit currently being held in Nairobi, Senegal is launching a veritable economic diplomacy offensive. Led by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, a high-level delegation, nicknamed the Senegalese "Dream Team," distinguished itself through its strategic presence during discussions with international partners, notably French President Emmanuel Macron.

Among the leading figures in this delegation are Baidy Agne, President of the African Employers' Association, Makhtar Diop, Managing Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and Mamadou Diagna Ndiaye, President of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Committee. This concentration of expertise, combining business, international high finance and sports diplomacy, underlines Senegal's ambition to position itself as an essential interlocutor on issues of financial and energy sovereignty of the continent.

This mobilization comes at a particularly tense regional time. While leaders discuss the future of Franco-African relations, energy security remains a central concern, following recent sabotage alerts on the OMVS network. The presence of these high-level decision-makers in Nairobi aims not only to reassure investors but also to promote the vision of an emerging Senegal, capable of mobilizing its most influential figures to serve the continent's influence.
