Assemblée nationale : Le budget 2026 de la Santé adopté
The 2026 budget for the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene was adopted this Thursday in a plenary session of the National Assembly, following debates between members of parliament and government officials. Of the 165 registered members of parliament, 139 participated in the vote, including 11 by proxy. The text was adopted with 134 votes in favor, 3 against, and 2 abstentions.
The Ministry's overall budget is set at 274,284,957,940 CFA francs in commitment authorizations (CA) and 217,278,557,940 CFA francs in payment appropriations (PA) for the 2026 fiscal year. The largest portion of the budget is allocated to the Quality Healthcare Program, which receives a total of 191,974,872,493 CFA francs in CA and 134,974,872,493 CFA francs in PA. These investments aim to strengthen the technical platform, improve infrastructure, and support the quality of patient care throughout the country.
The Steering, Coordination and Administrative Management Programme benefits from an estimated budget of 58,371,258,382 CFA francs in AE and 58,366,508,382 CFA francs in CP.
The Prevention and Health Promotion Program, a key pillar of health policy, has a budget of 23,938,827,065 CFA francs in commitment appropriations and 23,937,177,065 CFA francs in payment appropriations. These resources are intended to strengthen the fight against disease, prevention, hygiene promotion, and public health campaigns.
