Ousmane Sonko : "Je ferai face aux Sénégalais pour..."
Following President Bassirou Diomaye Faye's statement, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko reacted in his own way. The leader of the Pastef party announced on Sunday an imminent statement in which he intends to review his two years at the helm of the Prime Minister's office.
“In the coming days, I myself will address the Senegalese people to take stock of my two years as Prime Minister,” he declared by telephone, during an event organized by the Patriotic Youth of Senegal (JPS). “I will review everything we have accomplished in all sectors,” Mr. Sonko emphasized.
Addressing the youth of his party, he urged them to stay the course "so that Pastef continues to shine," asserting that he leads "the largest political party in the country." "We have a strong and very dynamic party, and all those who try to turn their backs on it will eventually come back to claim their place," he affirmed.
As a reminder, the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, also a founding member of Pastef, declared on Saturday evening to the press at the Palace that "if Ousmane Sonko remains Prime Minister, it is because, until now, he enjoys (his) confidence."
