Ousmane Sonko : « Ceux qui passent leur temps à râler ne construisent pas le pays »
While in Fissel this weekend for the inauguration of Pastef's local headquarters, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko delivered a combative speech. Between scathing criticism of the opposition and a call for national mobilization, the head of government reaffirmed the priorities of his administration.
Ousmane Sonko did not hold back in his criticism of his political opponents, denouncing what he considers sterile criticism. According to him, "those who spend their time complaining" contribute nothing to the nation-building effort. For the Prime Minister, patriotism cannot be decreed but is expressed through "work, restraint, and unwavering commitment to serving the country."
In a spirited speech, he contrasted the current government's vision with that of the former regime, directly challenging his supporters about a possible return to past governance practices. He thus expressed his doubts about the current opposition's ability to lead Senegal toward development.
The head of government also warned against external influences, which he considers contrary to national interests, affirming that he places his primary trust in "the Senegalese people" as the sole true engine of development. On the issue of sovereignty, he was uncompromising: "The country will neither be sold off nor given away," he asserted, promising to review certain past decisions deemed detrimental to the national economy.
