Rencontres politiques dans des hôtels de Dakar : les critiques de l'opposant Oumar Sow
After President Bassirou Diomaye Faye met with members of the Diomaye President coalition at the King Fahd Palace, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, in turn, met with members of the Patriotic Alliance for Work and Ethics (Apte) coalition at Azalaï Hotels Dakar.
These meetings, held in prestigious hotels in the capital, have inevitably provoked reactions within the opposition. This is particularly true of Oumar Sow, an opposition member, who strongly criticized what he sees as a disconnect between the rhetoric and actions of the new authorities.
"From King Fahd Palace to Azalaï Hotels, the scenario remains the same: luxury for the leaders, sacrifices for the people," he said, denouncing the organization of political meetings in establishments he considers prestigious.
According to him, the current authorities are calling on citizens to make sacrifices in a difficult economic climate, while holding their meetings in what he describes as luxurious settings. "They preach austerity, but they live in luxury with public money. Prestige and power: those are their real priorities," he added.
