PS : La mise en garde ferme d'Aminata Mbengue Ndiaye à Serigne Mbaye Thiam et Cie
A new zone of turbulence appears to be emerging within the Senegalese Socialist Party (PS). In a public statement, the party's Secretary General expressed her concerns following a meeting organized by some activists outside the official consultation frameworks of the political party.
According to the Socialist Party official, this meeting was initiated without prior approval from the relevant bodies, in violation of the operating rules stipulated in the party's statutes and internal regulations. Furthermore, discussions reportedly focused on a proposed creation of a structure called "Duundal Sénégal," an initiative which, she clarified, did not originate from any decision by the governing bodies of the Senegalese Socialist Party.
In light of this situation, the Secretary General wishes to clarify that this approach does not, in its current state, commit the party. She reiterates that any political or organizational direction must necessarily be examined and validated by the appropriate bodies.
This statement comes at a time that the leadership describes as a phase of revitalization, reorganization, and consolidation of the Senegalese Socialist Party. According to the Secretary General, the current situation demands greater cohesion and discipline to strengthen the ongoing reconstruction effort.
"Individual or parallel initiatives that do not fall within the frameworks defined by our bodies risk undermining ongoing collective efforts and creating confusion that is detrimental to the unity of our organization," she emphasizes.
The political leader emphasizes that the Socialist Party remains an organization founded on consultation, respect for collective decisions, and party discipline. According to her, the party's vitality rests primarily on its members' ability to act within an organized framework that aligns with the guidelines adopted by the leadership.
Consultations initiated to shed light on the matter
In order to clarify the circumstances surrounding this meeting and the projects that were allegedly discussed there, the party leadership announced the opening of consultations with the relevant bodies.
These discussions should soon lead to a meeting of the relevant bodies. The purpose of this meeting will be to examine the reported facts, assess their political and organizational implications, and determine, if necessary, the appropriate follow-up actions in strict accordance with the statutes governing the Senegalese Socialist Party.
The Secretary General assures, however, that this approach aims above all to preserve the stability of the political formation, to strengthen trust between its different components and to consolidate the gains of the ongoing recovery.
A call for activists to act responsibly
In conclusion to her statement, the socialist leader reaffirmed her commitment to the unity and cohesion of the Senegalese Socialist Party. She called on all members and officials to prioritize dialogue, discipline, and the best interests of the party.
This clarification reflects the leadership's commitment to maintaining the rigorous functioning of internal structures, at a time when the Senegalese Socialist Party is seeking to strengthen its organization and reposition itself on the national political scene. The coming days should shed more light on the conclusions of the consultations underway and on the future of the "Duundal Senegal" project, which is already raising numerous questions within the socialist movement.
