Members of Parliament are calling for greater budgetary restraint. During the review of the bill on the General Tax Code, they called for the streamlining of government spending and the elimination of political funds, believing that the tax burden on citizens cannot be eased without reducing public spending.
Thus, several parliamentarians suggested, among other initiatives, incentives for tax compliance, tax consent, and strengthening the human and logistical resources of the tax administration. "Others, however, called for greater caution in the perspective of broadening the tax base through the recovery of all tax loopholes. They drew the minister's attention to the risks associated with the consequences of the heavy tax burden on the population, already severely affected by the economic situation. In this regard, they considered that the country is overtaxed and called on the Government to act on other levers, in particular the rationalization of the State's standard of living as well as the elimination of political funds," reported the president of the Finance and Budgetary Control Committee.
Furthermore, they deplored the haste with which this bill was presented. Similarly, MPs considered this bill inappropriate, especially since the revision of the General Tax Code is underway and interoperability will soon be implemented.
Furthermore, other MPs specified that the various revenues collected "will ultimately be used to meet the vital needs of the population, who remain, moreover, the very first beneficiaries." "This is why they invited the minister to communicate more with the population in order to persuade them of the importance of these measures in meeting their vital needs," they said.
The examination of the draft law on the General Tax Code is underway in the Chamber this Thursday, September 18.

Diomaye 11 milliards X 5 ans= 55 milliards
Sonko 9 milliards X 5 ans = 45 milliards
Cela n'existe nulle part ailleurs.
