Saint-Louis : Le PDS face à une menace d’expulsion de son siège, les militants crient à l’intimidation
A heated controversy has erupted between the Senegalese Democratic Party (PDS) and the family of Saint-Louis mayor Mansour Faye over the occupation of the party headquarters. Ordered to vacate the premises, the party members denounce this as an attempt at intimidation ahead of the municipal elections and vow to resist.
Tensions are rising around the headquarters of the Senegalese Democratic Party (PDS) in Saint-Louis. Party members claim to have received a summons to vacate the premises, issued by the daughter of Mayor Mansour Faye, who asserts ownership of the property.
Liberal leaders see this move as an attempt at intimidation ahead of the municipal elections. They denounce political pressure and reaffirm their determination to remain in the premises.
In a press conference, the secretary general of the urban federation of the PDS in Saint-Louis, Djibril Sakho, assured that the land issue suffers from no ambiguity.
According to him, all the necessary administrative steps had been taken by the party's national secretary general, former president Abdoulaye Wade, to officially award the seat to the PDS.

Faced with this situation, PDS activists say they are ready to launch a counter-offensive to defend what they consider their political heritage, while also calling on the relevant authorities and services responsible for land management.
