Situation politique du pays et crise au sommet : Dr Mohamed Lamine Manga exhorte le tandem Diamaye-Sonko à l’unité
The country's political situation, characterized in recent weeks by "a crisis at the top," has left members of the Social Democrats of Senegal and its national secretary perplexed. Dr. Mohamed Lamine Manga called on the President of the Republic and his Prime Minister to unite and, above all, to review their governance strategy, describing the political situation as deplorable.
"The political situation is disheartening because many Senegalese have placed their hopes in this new regime. And I say, no Senegalese has any interest in seeing this duo separate. They are our brothers, they are our administrators, the President and his Prime Minister. I am calling for their unity. Because the Senegalese have placed a lot of hope in them," said the national secretary of the Social Democrats.
For Dr. Mohamed Lamine Manga, the Diomaye-Sonko tandem should start to review their work and respect this much-touted promise which will undoubtedly allow them to resolve and overcome certain positioning disputes, or even political blackmail.
"Those who don't have a call for applications talk about meritocracy. As long as merit isn't prioritized in this country, what will prevail? Nepotism. And what is nepotism? You're my friend, you're my brother, you're my relative, I appoint you. But there's no competence involved. Europe has faced the same problems before. But what made Europe develop? It's because they changed their political paradigm to ultimately prioritize governance based on competence, starting with Germany, and other countries followed suit," emphasized the history professor and researcher at Assane Seck University in Ziguinchor.
He asks the Senegalese to support and generate a broad consensus, first and foremost around this regime.
Dr. Mohamed Lamine Manga and Co. believe that it is necessary to change the way in which the State's public policies are carried out and directed, and to promote development that takes into account all Senegalese people.
He did not fail to make a critical analysis of the economic and social situation of the city of Ziguinchor.
"The economic and social situation in Ziguinchor is disastrous, it's chaotic. When you see the potential of this region, you realize what a waste it is. You have a river, you have a port, you have an airport, complemented by the nearby Cap Skirring airport. You have a public university, you have private universities. You have a youth in the prime of life. You are in a crossroads region. The potential is enormous. Look at the banking sector. Banks aren't going to invest in regions where there's no potential. How many banks have we had in recent years? This potential isn't being exploited by the people of Ziguinchor," lamented Dr. Manga.
