Sonko à l’Assemblée ce mardi : la nouvelle résolution de l’opposition
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko is expected at the National Assembly this Tuesday for the Question Time session. Unlike his previous appearance in the chamber for the same exercise last November, when he boycotted the proceedings, a significant portion of the opposition will indeed be present this time. "Everything seems to indicate, barring a last-minute change of heart, that the Takku-Wallu parliamentary group and a good number of registered members will not boycott. They will be present and will ask their two questions," reports Les Échos in its Monday edition.
But while it seems to be breaking with the policy of the empty chair, the opposition has set a condition for attending the Prime Minister's explanations until the end. "They [the opposition] will follow the Prime Minister: if he responds respectfully, the debate will take place, but if he dares to disrespect one of them, they will all leave and leave him with 'his MPs' in the chamber," the newspaper whispers.
