Communiqué signé par Amadou Bâ, Thierno Alassane Sall, Anta Babacar Ngom et Cie… : Pape Djibril Fall se dit "surpris"
In the National Assembly, a group of thirteen non-affiliated deputies announced in a press release published this Monday that they will not file an appeal against the bill proposed by the Pastef parliamentary group, adopted on April 28.
The said press release was signed by Amadou Ba, Nafi Kane, Rokhaya Camara, Birima Mangara, Anta Babacar Ngom Diack, Moussa Sarr, Adama Diallo, Thierno Alassane Sall, Mbaye Dione, Tahirou Sarr, Ndeye Saly Diop Dieng, Maguette Sene and Tafsir Thioye.
Although not registered as a member of parliament, MP Pape Djibril Fall is not among the signatories of this document. He nevertheless decided to clarify his position on the matter.
"I have just noticed with great surprise a press release attributed to non-affiliated members of parliament. You will note with me that I am not a signatory of this press release. I inform the public that I was neither informed nor associated with this initiative," he said.
The leader of the "Servants" party clarifies that he maintains his principled stance on this amendment to Articles L29 and L30 of the electoral code. For him, it "aims only to secure the candidacy of the Prime Minister in an undemocratic and unorthodox manner."
