« Taxaw Saytu » : après "Poroze bi", Thiat prend la parole
In its edition of Friday, April 24, Les Échos reports that as part of its citizen initiative "Taxaw Saytu" (evaluate public action), the coordinator of the Y en a marre movement, Cyril Touré alias Thiat, is to speak this morning from 9 a.m.
True to his reputation for speaking his mind, the rapper and activist is expected to directly challenge the new authorities on respecting their electoral promises, according to the same source.
After criticizing the regimes of Abdoulaye Wade and Macky Sall, the movement is thus reaffirming its position as a vigilant citizen watchdog against the current government. Thiat's "raw language" style is unlikely to be well-received in the corridors of power, especially since the artist recently made a name for himself with his single "Poroze bi," a scathing critique of the "Project" championed by Pastef, the daily newspaper notes.
