"The political, economic, and social situation our country is currently experiencing calls for seriousness, restraint, and a sense of responsibility." This warning comes from Ma Diakhaté Niang, president of the Citizen Alternative And Sopi Thiès movement.

Indeed, for several days now, Senegal has been experiencing a sensitive period, marked by tensions and legitimate concerns. It seems essential to reiterate the importance of peace and national cohesion.

Mr. Niang, who says he does not take a position and remains a citizen's voice and a pan-African patriot, recalls that his political commitment remains constant: "To preserve the stability of the country, to defend peace and to work for the improvement of the living conditions of our fellow citizens, whatever their sensitivities or their political affiliations, among other things."

“The peace that characterizes us is not a given. It results from the heritage passed down by our elders and the maturity of several generations of Senegalese men and women. It is the foundation of our democracy, our identity and our living together,” recalls the president of And Sopi Thiès, for whom “preserving it is a sacred duty for each of us.”

He remains convinced that our differences of opinion are legitimate and inherent to any democratic society. However, what unites us is infinitely stronger than what divides us: the same flag, the same territory, the same history, the same destiny. No one can be above the Nation.
