The Socialist Party (PS) has initiated a new dynamic of restructuring and revitalization of its activities. On Thursday, August 31, 2025, the president of the Special Revival Commission, Aminata Meng, officially installed this strategic body, in accordance with the provisions of the party's circular letter.

An organizational restructuring mission

Under the coordination of Mamadou Faye and Gorgui Ciss, the Special Commission immediately set to work, initiating sectoral consultations with all components of the party. Its objective is clear: to lay the foundations for a renewed Socialist Party, better organized and adapted to the current realities of the Senegalese political scene.

As part of this mission, it was planned to organize a videoconference with the heads of external coordination. However, technical constraints linked to the geographical dispersion of the members led the Commission to favor another approach: written consultation. Thus, the heads of external structures are invited to send their contributions by the end of October 2025 to the party's official address (senegalpartisocialiste@gmail.com).

Ten strategic areas of work

The Special Commission defined a set of priorities to guide the party's revival, including:

• The inventory of the structures and functioning of the PS, as well as the application of its texts;

• The development of a minimum program for animation and remobilization of the bases;

• Rationalization of the internal organization through appropriate reforms;

• The revision and updating of statutes and internal regulations;

• The establishment of sustainable and stable financing mechanisms;

• The development and management of the party’s land and real estate assets;

• The development of financial regulations for greater transparency in resource management;

• Drafting a policy brief to address national and international challenges;

• The scientific, material and financial preparation of the extraordinary congress;

• The proposal of new, more representative management bodies better adapted to the current situation.

A call for activists to mobilize

In her message, Aminata Meng stressed the need for collective mobilization and the quality of the contributions expected:

"Knowing your deep attachment to the Socialist Party and its influence, I am convinced that your thoughts will live up to this common ambition," she declared.

This participatory process should culminate in an extraordinary congress, a true moment of refoundation for the Socialist Party. The Socialist Party aims to regain its rightful place in the Senegalese political landscape, relying on modernized structures and a renewed political project.
