Un ministre prévient : « Avec moi, ça ne marche pas »
Faced with accusations of "chaotic management" and "incompetence" made by the National Union of Trade Administration Agents (Synacom), the supervising minister, Serigne Guèye Diop, condemns a "truly irresponsible attitude" and regrets that the union members have favoured the press rather than direct dialogue with their ministry.
In an interview with L'Observateur, he lamented that union officials had chosen to "speak directly to the press" instead of engaging with him, recalling that "a minister of the Republic" deserves "respect".
The minister also rejects the claim that the files have gone unanswered. He explains that the delays mentioned for certain decrees and orders, particularly those related to collected fees and common funds, are simply due to the illness of the official in charge of the file. He further points out that certain demands, such as the recruitment of temporary workers, fall under the purview of the Ministry of Employment and not his department.
While announcing a consultation meeting with representatives of Synacom, Serigne Guèye Diop maintains he remains open to dialogue, but warns against any attempt at political exploitation. "Unions are first and foremost apolitical," he insists, before adding: "I don't know if it's political or union pressure, but it won't work on me."
