« Un Premier ministre ne s'est jamais aussi... » : Barthélémy Dias charge Ousmane Sonko
Turning the page on his role as mayor of Dakar, Barthélemy Dias is currently traveling to the United States, where he is holding numerous meetings with the Senegalese diaspora. During a meeting with supporters in New York, the leader of the Senegal Bi Nu Bokk movement shared his political vision while also sharply criticizing the current regime, led by his former allies in the Yewwi Askan Wi coalition, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.
In a statement to Les Echos, the opposition leader particularly protested against Sonko's alleged excessive use of the presidential plane, denouncing "an unprecedented practice" that he considers contrary to republican ethics. He also denounced the high amount of political funds allocated to the Prime Minister, stressing that no head of government had benefited from it on such a scale.
"Those who argue that the President can make the command plane available to the Prime Minister as much as he wants can also support him lending it to his wives, children, or friends. We will not accept this. And when the time comes, they will have to answer for it," he said ironically.
During his tour, Barthélemy Dias also expressed his categorical opposition to the government's recent decision to authorize the importation of vehicles over 10 years old. He considers this measure an economic and environmental setback. If he ever comes to power, he promises to draw inspiration from the Cape Verde model: "I'm not going to invent anything, I'm going to copy what works. In the Cape Verde islands, those who work in transport use new vehicles, with zero kilometers on the odometer. These cars don't pay customs taxes upon arrival, but it is forbidden to sell them or use them for other purposes for the first five years. As a result, the entire transport fleet is new," he explained.
According to him, this model would allow Senegal to modernize its vehicle fleet while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Dias also sees it as an opportunity to attract international funding through carbon credit mechanisms linked to the fight against climate change.

Il faut déjà commencer à lister one by one leur dérive
Ils seront traquer a mort inshallah
