Vision Sénégal 2050 : Le Ministre de l’Intérieure inaugure les nouveaux locaux de la préfecture de Mbour

The Mbour department now has a new, modern prefecture, built by the Senegalese government using its own resources. The inauguration ceremony was held this Friday in the presence of Interior Minister Jean Baptiste Tine, along with administrative and local authorities.

Built on a built-up area of 612 m², including 348 m² on the ground floor and 264 m² on the first floor, the building cost approximately 224 million CFA francs and was completed in just nine months.

According to the minister, this infrastructure aims to provide a more functional working environment, better suited to public service missions.

He recalled that this achievement is part of the vision of the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, and the Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko, who intend to promote a modern, collaborative territorial administration close to citizens.

This project is also part of the National Transformation Agenda "Senegal 2050", which provides, among other things, for the strengthening of the capacities of the territorial administration, the reform of decentralization and the modernization of administrative infrastructures.

The new headquarters of the Mbour prefecture is not just an administrative building; it symbolizes, according to General Tine, "the ambition to restore all its dignity to the State in the territories. By modernizing our infrastructure, we are investing in the future. Every wall of this prefecture testifies to our commitment to building a State that serves its citizens, respects their aspirations and cares for their dignity," says the minister, who insists on a clear objective "to create a workspace conducive to rigor, responsibility and better listening to citizens."

The ceremony was an opportunity to salute the work of the Director General of Territorial Administration, the Governor of the Thiès region, the Prefect of Mbour as well as the Director of Construction, without forgetting all the actors who contributed to the realization of the project.
